Help Video Camera focus problem in 5.7.893

First and foremost, thanks to all of the contributors for your tips and advice you have been kind enought to post here for all to benefit from. Since installing the update, things have been much better in all ways.

With that said, I read a post within another thread describing a problem with the video camera focusing once you begin to record so I decided to check what mine was doing. Sure enough, I have the same problem that the other poster had described - the focus works fine prior to recording, but once you start recording it no longer re-focuses as the subject moves or changes.

I know my my phone did re-focus while recording prior to installing the 5.7.893 update (which I installed on a stock, unrooted phone - sorry, don't mean to be so boring) so I am going on the assumption that this issue arose as a result of this update.

Also, fully aware this was a leaked update, it is possible this issue was already, or will be fixed in the 'Official' update, but I wanted to make sure the problem is a known / confirmed item, and it seems there is a conduit from this board back to the Motorola/Verizon developers.

Thanks again

It sounds as if the problem went from one extreme to the other: video recording with the original OS results in CONSTANT refocusing, causing an annoying "breathing" effect, making video next to worthless.

THANK YOU...I have had 2 posters tell me there's was working perfectly. Mine worked in multiple ROMS and stock versions prior to 5.7.893 and I was goind MAD trying to figure out what the heck I was doing wrong. THANK YOU SO MUCH...I can now rest lol

I have noticed the video camera does not auto-focus with the leaked updates. I know the focus problem with the video was an issue with a lot of people because it would sometimes auto-focus continually.

I have noticed that you can, while recording, tap the screen and the video camera will focus. I liked this feature.

It also appears Facebook videos now play as they weren't before.

Just a couple things I've noticed.

So it basically went from super sensitive auto focus to user activated manual focus - well at least we now know how to make it refocus.

WOW...I had NO IDEA it could be refocused by touching the screen...it's not perfect, but at least now I know how to do it. Thanks a lot :)
