Root Video Camera Issues

Alright this is my first thread so bare with me. Ok, my EVO's video Camera keeps freezing. Once I shoot a video, and I'm done I play it back to see how it looks and it freezes a lot. I've used Synergy, MikG, Mik3D, MIUI, and CM7. All these ROMs give me the same problem, and i want to know if anyone has had any issues with the Video Camera and fixed it. I am rooted, and I received my EVO August 4th, 2011. I do have insurance on it, so should I call and have it replaced or can I fix it? Guys anything will help. Btw I did not update to the new OTA, and its been this way for the last month and a half. Also the EVO was discontinued a few months back does anyone believe they will have replacements?

have you tried wiping dalvik cache and cache on all of the roms you tried? and just to make sure are you wiping correctly before you are flashing these roms?

also what rom/kernel combo did you try?

I wipe them both before flashing, and usually I use chop suey for most of my roms, now I use the stock kernel, but even overclocked it would still freeze.

you should be wiping others as well when you flash a rom. you need to wipe at least data, dalvik cache, and cache before flashing.

I do, since I'm using Amon Ra bootloader I wipe user personal data, cache, dalvik cache, data, and system I'm forgetting to mention one but i do wipe the ones I have to

ok so lets try a ruu. this will give you a stock rom and stock recovery. you will loose amon ra temporarily. this will not unroot you. did you update your radios? so what is your hboot and your baseband (radio) now?

ok lets try the 4.53 ruu that is based off of your radio:
Deposit Files

this ruu you will run on your computer. just plug it in when it tells you to and make sure that you have usb debugging turned on your phone. also make sure that it is set to charge.

again this will give you stock rom with a stock recovery. you will not have access to the recovery and you will get the red triangle with an exclammation mark. you will however, still have s-off.

So this will take me back to how I recieved my phone but I'll still be rooted, right?

yes that is correct. you will have s-off, but no recovery. if you experience no issues with the camera on this ruu then it is not a hardware issue and you can just install amon ra2.3 and flash a rom or nandroid backup restore. however, if the issue is still there then you might have to unroot it and take it in.

Ok ill try it, btw since they discontinued the EVO do you think they'll have them in stock?

Btw I went to the link and it said " Such file does not exist or it has been removed for infringement of copyrights." Damn Government

just checking back in. curious if the ruu helped any with your camera issue.

I've had some input going on over on the OTA do not update thread (I mistakenly applied the update and now my wifi shows error). Wondering if doing these steps you guys are talking about here might help with my issue. The last thing someone told me to try on the other thread was
"Did you flash a kernel?

Try reflashing it if you did. If you didnt, try a different one or re-flash the stock ROM. Make sure you are wiping dalvik cache and cache before flashing kernels."

well he has tried the stock kernels that comes with the roms, so i do not think that it is a kernel issue as the kernel that comes with the rom should not make the camera not work properly. however, you are correct in that some kernels will not work on some roms. like froyo sense kernels will not work with gingerbread roms.and aosp kernels will not work with sense roms or vice versa.
