Help Video format?

Hi folks, what's the best video format to use on the Wildfire? I have successfully used 3GP, but, the quality isn't that good.
According to the official HTC website, it supports MP4 and WMV, I tried converting an .avi to MP4 using OJO Soft Total Video converter, transferred it to phone, it shows up in the Gallery, but, when I try to play it, it just displays a static picture and plays the audio. Also, the only way to put it off, is to take the battery out as the phone totally freezes!!

Any help will be much appreciated.

Tried it and the video just locked up, I've since uninstalled it and replaced it with Rockplayer, works perfectly.

Is the " rockplayer " the solution you got , because I am facing the same problem ...

I got a solution it works for me ..
* what I did is , I have a converter " format factory "
* then took the file (needed to converted to mp4) draged it in to the app
* select "all to mp4"
* settings - options- 1] take "mobile device compatible 480*320 mpeg4" under profile
2] video size "480*320"
* then "ok" and start converting
* those file work well in my htc wildfire without any problem like video , audio or format .

Guys i am new user of Wildfire transfered a movie in .avi format it is not showing up videos or galleries can any one help me
