Is there a way to record videos other than mp4?

Why? There are tons of video converters if you need things to be in a different format. MP4 converts for every site you would upload to, and it is a smaller file size format than a lot of others.

I like to use Google Picassa which curiously does not allow mp4.

I would recommend Freemake Video Converter. Free and does everything without a drop of spyware. Its a bit ace tbf.

I am not real techy. Is there a computer photo app better than picasa that will takes pictures and video formats that is easy to use?

xillisoft is a frame by fram video converter, it will convert anything to anything. period

photoshop for convertimg imgs

both applications want your money
but u can goole look alikes

i know i find free converters when looking for one specific format to another

if i were u my target would be avi, avi with divx or xvid, mpeg, mpeg2, or flv, depinding on what your trying to do once the vid is actualy on the cloud
