What are the advantages of F2FS over stock EXT4 format?
1) F2FS is much faster at writing data than EXT4. Reading data is not some much of a difference but you'll notice a difference in UI fluidity etc because of the higher sdcard writing speeds. (which makes caching data on your sdcard so much easier for you phone hence less lag)
2) F2FS is auto trimmed. One of the problems with EXT4 is it slows down over time because it needs trimming. You can manually trim EXT4 using fstrim but F2FS already does this for you.
3) F2FS was designed specifically for MMC (phone) memory. EXT4 is older and used on spinning hard drives and SSDs alike which is why it is not as "optimized" for your phone.
If something fails in this process is my phone bricked?
Absolutely not. You still have TWRP and bootloader you can boot into.
Is F2FS worth all of the hassle?
I think so. It's a noticeable difference. Once I tried F2FS I was hooked and I don't plan on ever using EXT4 again to be honest. You'll have to try it and see if it is worth all of the hassle to you.
