Video on the Atrix

Atrix4G

Newbie
This is a stupid question, but since I'm new to android coming from an iPhone 4 and the Atrix is my frist android phone. Can anyone recommend me to a good program to convert movies to the Atrix's resolution and also tell me how to add the movie files to my phone so I could watch it.

Thanks

I use DVD Converter Pro to convert whatever it is that I have to just a standard MPEG-4 file with H.264. As for adding them, just hook it up via USB and drag and drop into a folder. As for the resolution, 16:9 would be my choice but I'm not sure

What kind of files do you have currently? I ask because I have many .mpg files and those are not supported natively by Android. Converting to another format is slow and boring.

I found an app called Vital Player that can play .mpg and most other file formats. Rather than spending time converting files, you might just check out this app.

If your goal is to have smaller files, you'll still need to convert.

Check out Handbrake:

+1 for Handbrake. I have Serenity (from dvd) that I've watched on my Atrix.

Another here for handbrake. I used the following profile with decent results:

So I tried this last night with Iron Man 2 (DVD) .... it ran ALL NIGHT LONG (converting) and was only a third complete by this morning .... is it supposed to take days to convert a dvd? I mean I have a screaming fast PC but it was taking forever.

On a side note, if I download the "digital copy" to Itunes, can I use Isyncr to pull it over to the Atrix?

That seems _way_ too long. Maybe there was something slowing down the conversion, like maybe an AV app or something[?]

Well I tried this all weekend, tried 5 different movies on DVD of different ages...NONE of them converted to a watchable file. All of them turned out like .... well like when you loose signal on a satellite system, I could hear it (sort of) but it was all super pixilated and trippy colors.

I followed these instructions to the letter. Anyone have any other options on how to get movies on the Atrix, I leave for LA on Thursday...it's a 4 hour flight, love to have say 4 movies on my phone I could watch.

Also, Handbrake doesn't decrypt DVDs. I use dvdshrink to decrypt THEN convert the DECRYPTED files with handbrake. Sorry for leaving that bit out. :o

AHA no one mentioned this before. I will try this. Thanks for the tip.

If anyone has movies already converted or knows of a website where I could down load them PM me, I am willing to pay a nominal fee for a few good flicks ya know.
