Video Player?

Is anyone using a good video player app? I get WMV's emails sometimes and I was looking for a player. Vplayer says it won't work on Nexus S.. It doesn't. Maybe they will update it.

I must be doing something wrong... I get an email with a .wmv file, it touch the open button and it asks me to pix a program, Gallery or Rockplayer. I tried both and the files won't play.

The Nexus S only supports MPEG4, H.263, H.264, 3GP. I would recommend downloading an .avi to .MP4 converter like this one which works very well.

RockPlayer should play WMV just fine. It uses a software decoder, so the phone's built in support doesn't matter. Not sure why the OP can't get it to work. I've use RockPlayer on several phones.

Are you running Rockplayer 1.5.2? The version in the market is not the latest. Try check for update within the app.

I downloaded from the market and it directed me to their site for 1.5.2; costs $10 but worth it.

You can still use 1.5.2 for free, with ads.

ArcMedia plays anything under the sun and its free. a pure VLC of android. no need to convert anything. awesome full screen playback.

Na.. Not working.. Do I need to store the file in memory first then play it? If so, I haven't figured out how to store a file from email with the stock client.

I guess RockPlayer just doesn't work in this phone. I just tried a .MOV that was emailed to me file and the same thing. Won't play.. Hummmm. Not happy about this.

OK.. Got it. Just needed to load K9 and save the file. Then use Rockplayer to play the file.

I believe Gallery it the stock player in this phone.
