I am sure the default media player would handle it providing it support the codecs of the movies you want to watch, the thing here is the phones basic low resolution, the movies may not look that great.

Open the gallery and click on the movie you want to watch. It needs to be in mp4 or the android player won't play it. The resolution needs to be 480x320. You can download handbrake to convert videos to play on the V. If you need help with the settings search this forum them. Or you can try one the players on the market, although I haven't found one that works very good.

I'm also a new OV user... I've been using this player:

https://market.android.com/details?id=video.movie.summer.music.player&feature=search_result

I've only found one minor 'nuisance' so far--it recognizes WMA audio files as video files. Otherwise, it works for all the downloaded DivX/XviD AVI movie files that I've thrown at it.

[Edit] This player also play the native video files created by the OV's video camera. [/Edit]

Odd, it worked fine for me. 700+ MB AVI files played without any issue.
