Help video recording settings

I just took a few videos using the front facing camera on my S3 and when I sent them via text they were so blurry they could barely be seen. They're fine when I watch them on my phone but the texted ones are blurry. I'm trying to figure out if it's something in my settings but I'm not sure which ones to adjust.
Also is there a way to edit the video clips, i.e. take the last couple seconds off of it?
This is all new to me so I would appreciate any help. Thanks!!

The front camera is really low quality to start with tbh mate. Only useful for video calls :thumbup:
Then theyre either maybe gettin compressed when u send them, being looked at on a large screen or gettin viewed on poorer displays.
