Help video will not play

Just got my new Ascend g300 and so far very pleased.
I have just put a small MP4 file on the micro sd card and the phone shows the file in gallery,BUT when I try to play I get a message saying ...'Sorry this video cannot be played'
My wife's galaxy y plays the file perfectly. Both phones using gingerbread.
Any idea what media player the Galaxy Y uses?
What is wrong?

Have you tried an alternative video player? I use MX Video player and have yet to find a video format it can't play on any of my devices.

Downloaded and it plays the file. o.k., not perfect but watchable.
