Help viewing messages

i find it annoying that when i click on the "messages" icon - i am taken to the last text thread that i was working in, and then i have to click menu, and choose all messages. i just want the messages icon to take me to the list of all messages. is there a way to make that happen?

when you are done with a message...hit the "back" button to back to your list of threads.
