Help Viewing video from iPhone

yello240

Lurker
I am attempting to view a video, from a friend, received through text message, on my Samsung Galaxy S2. When I receive it, it will read 'downloading' and then it will show a picture of film with a play button and an exclamation point on it. If I click the 'video' it will show it as 'playing' on the time bar, but there is no video or sound. Can you help me figure this out. I REALLY want to be able to view videos from Apple users.

Also, if I get a video from a NON iPhone user, it works just fine.

Hi yello240 and welcome to Android Forums.

Are you absolutely sure that they sent you a video? I only ask because it's been my experience that Android handles messages from iPhone users in a unique way such as what you just described. I get that all the time. Sometimes it's a picture, sometimes it's a text, rarely is it truly a video. This is all just in my experience though.

Yes...I am sure. I downloaded a .MOV player and when I try to play it via the app it will still 'play' but no sound or picture.

The only other thing I've found that has a chance of working would be to try to rename the file as an MP4 file.
