Help Viewpad 7 display settings reset

I recently purchased the Viewsonic Viewpad 7 and noticed that if I let the battery drain and let the phone die, after charging and powering the device back on, my display brightness is reset to the lowest brightness. Anyone know if this is due to the device running 2.2.1?

I'll try testing this, though I'll warn you, it will take several days for my device to run down the battery, based on previous experience.

178 hours later, the battery finally completely drained (oh how I love the battery on this thing!) ... but I digress...

I let it charge (while powered off), than turned it on - I was at the same, middle of the road, brightness setting as I had been before I'd let it die.

So...could an app you have installed be the culprit?

i have destroyed my viewpad 7 out of curiosity, i am having boot-loop problem help me out

i flash my viewpad with the latest Original Official Firmware from Viewsonic:
FM6-3310-0-5029-A02.nb0
After rebooting the touchscreen is not working.
Please help out.
