Root Viper 3D ROM

So it's time to change ROMs yet again. Might do AOKP 4.2.2 if I can find the one that everyone is using. But I'm probably putting that on my Nexus 7 so I wanted something different for my phone.

Anyway...

I tried to install this a few times before and nothing happened. I did all the normal steps to flashing a ROM, wipe and all that. Then when I installed went to flash the ROM it would say it completed in like 2 seconds. I had read a couple of posts that it was taking WAY longer than that to install for other people. When I rebooted, the ROM I had on there before trying to flash Viper would still be installed. Maybe I had the wrong version or something, I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas?
 
Moved to ATR, I would definitely check the md5 because it definitely takes longer than a few seconds to flash the rom, might just be a corrupt download. Good luck, OB
 
Should take a good 5 minutes at least to flash this ROM. Longer if you wipe in Aroma. Definitely redownload. What recovery are you using? 4EXT? TWRP? When I was using TWRP i was having some issues with it doing the same thing.
 
That's the issue. CW Touch is iffy at times. Least from my experience. Try using 4EXT or TWRP Touch.
 
Hey, the Play store says that chrome isn't compatible with my version of android, yet I'm on viper3D, which is 4.0.4. What do I do?

Get my build.prop in the "Viper3d=the best" thread (near the end of the thread) Put it in system/ replacing the one in there.
Then, get into recovery and wipe cache/dalvik cache then reboot!
