Root Viper Rom Help

May be your HBoot 1.04

I have Everything else you do except I use HBoot JuopunutBear 1.57 and I can install that exact file with no problems.
 
Just follow this tutorial: Unlimited.IO
Download the ICS HBOOT 1.58.5858 and put the downloaded jb_hboot.zip file in the same directory as fastboot.exe before doing the tutorial. You just need to have basic command prompt knowledge and the fastboot drivers downloaded, which you should because you rooted your phone lol.

I can confirm this works because I was running the engineering HBOOT before that then I switched to ICS HBOOT 1.58.5858 and then installed Viper3D and everything worked fine.
 
totally noob question, but can i get a step-by-step on how to upgrade? i have s-off and hboot 1.04

edit: also tried to flash above rom and in bootloop :(

Which one would be better you think for roms old and newer, 1.57 or 1.58?

I'd say 1.57, since it IS marked for the virgin mobile firmware :D

Yea but the other HBOOTs i heard work fine, like the 1.04 HBOOT is for the sprints evo 3d. I'll have to do a little more researching. till then ill be sticking to midnight rom that's the only one that's been good to me lol.

lol sounds good. have you tried MeanRomICS?

Yea i gave it a try i didn't really like it that much its alright i guess but to me it just seems like a cover up stock rom. besides i don't like the launcher being pre-installed for some reason lol. i do use NOVA on midnight rom and its really snappy.

NOVA (at least for me) has always seemed snappy, never a problem with it :)
