Root [Virgin Mobile] Android KitKat?

Now I've been seeing on the Internet that the new 4.4 KitKat has been announced. I also read that Google said that they want it to be able to run by almost everyone. I'm thinking that this is won't need insanely high specs to run, meaning (if this phone isn't dead by its release) that maybe we could get that update? What do you guys think?

I doubt Samsung will bother- they barely take the effort to update their flagships to 4.2.2, and Kernel upgrades are harder than ROMs, from what I understand about development.

Is it me or does Google have a sweet tooth? ;)

I wonder if KitKat would be a step backwards, because if it can be run on all devices, wouldn't it have to be a stripped down version to run on older devices. I enjoy things like Google Now and would hate to see it disappear because it's convenient for Google.

I might be over-reacting, but I like my phone the way it is and with CM10 in Alpha, I probably wouldn't touch the update unless there are benefits to doing so.

I don't know if it will be stripped down, or if it will be better optimized. This is a bad example but, some video games will run poorly on a pc, but it's sequel is better with better graphics and features, but better optimization and will run better than its predecessor.

Maybe they're adopting a universal backbone with secondary packages to customize feature sets for the specific capabilities of specific phones?

Sigh....a guy can dream...
