With AOSP, this phone would be a competitor for a solid 2 years, at least as long as the iPhone 5, specwise.

App devs wouldnt alienate the current modern users (1.2-1.7 dual core) while there is still a substantial customer base, so the current high level phones: S3, Victory, i5, HTC; will be relevant for the next 2 years as everyone has just now upgraded to these models.

So, a good ROM for this phone will give it legs to run until the next major paradigm shift (2-3 years).

Trust me. Its the goal. Weve been discussing AOSP, AOKP, CM, PAC, PA. I think everyone is on the same page for having a stock, all working, AOSP 4.3. It's gonna take some time, research, failure, headaches, doobies, and teamwork. But dont you worry sir

i'd be ok with even an AOSP 4.2, the major hold up with that is the 3.4 kernel upgrade, i think if we can get that successful everything else should port okay, hopefully. Got some amazing devs interested and helping

Id love to learn to kernel dev. Exposure to Flash, bash and command line Java under my belt.

mIRC for windows, i use xChat on Ubuntu. Freenode is a popular main server that should be shown in a list, and /join #victory-recon will get u to the channel after u connect
