What will the account reset do? I will test the debug once I get home again.

Thanks,
Eric

If the reset is what I believe it is, they company totally drops connection to your device and reconnects to is, kinda the equal to if ur home internet gets wacky u unplug/reset ur modem/router to reestablish a totally new connection

This will not help his data connection if it is ongoing upgrades like I mentioned above.

Also, putting the device in airplane mode would do the same thing which would drop his voice and data connections and turn off the device's radios then reconnect once airplane mode is disabled. I have a feeling doing what you mentioned above wouldn't have a different impact on his 3G experience.

I wasn't saying to reset, I was just answering his question of what it is

And yes if there are upgrades happening in the area nothing will help it

I would normally suggested a fresh install and allowing it to settle as with these Roms if u don't the signal bar never stays on anything for longer then 3 seconds, but again. If there are upgrades in the area then nothing but time will fix it

Well I only said that cause this problem was a thing that took over the metro PCs a CDMA company such as VM but the resetting that they did fixed the data problem . but the op was being pushy and didn't want to help the situation with answers that couldn't help fix the problem . its true sprint and all the major carriers are performing upgrades to towers around the glob. But time will tell .:D

I'm sorry if I was being pushy I wasn't trying to be at all. Anyways basically I'm getting data cut at my home and school. These places are pretty far apart, but are you sure its them upgrading? Also I'm getting spots of lte too along the main roads. If you need my address etc ask its not a problem. Also whatever info you need I can provide it.

Just the state will do and as you said its spoty on different roads that's a sign of towers being upgraded and u may have a update to fix check the updates either at kies

West Virginia I'm in the northern panhandle btw. I don't want people thinking I'm a hick lol

Hey I can care less about who u are I am here to help you out . now your area is a problem with VM . its a upgrade going down I post it in a few and if you talk to anyone that has the VM as a carrier near you this will results in hearing the same problems give or take . and you can call a carrier near you.but if you want to test out go near the store such as bestbuy or RadioShack maybe a sprint dealers Dont go in just out in front check to see if your signal improves if it do that's cause the network is being fixed.
O before I go this may scare you I pick the nose of frosty the snowman .:D

I'm the only vm carrier within my friends lol, but most of them don't know what they're doing with their phones. All of them have Iphones or don't have VM or Sprint...

As I said just scroll down to a local radio shack . I had VM for 3weeks and had to drop cause the always seeking money but service is very dumb

So is it being updated? I've been to my radioshack before, but what am I supposed to do there? I'm just confused on what you want me to do.

Dont go in just check to see if the signal stay sturdy 3g and ask radio shack if they have any problems with vm

O I forgot I went to jobcops in west Virginia. Yes kennawa drive yes isn't many sprints or shacks . may have to try that out in a McDonald or KFC or dunkin dounut a free WiFi place and power off for 5min and power back on and wait til signal gets good if it shifts out yes no signal around I Dont even think u guys have 4g yet

Ok I'm sorry how is this improving my signal? its a restaurant... , but we do get 4g in some spots. I live in zip code 26060

ok can you summarize this I really don't have time to read all of it. Also is there a way to fix this problem then?
Thanks,
Eric

By far, the best way I have found to get accurate info about signal strength in a area is with an app called Sensory. It's free, includes a built in version of speed test, and has a really good interface for choosing what to display on the map.

All of the data is crowd sourced. It's much more accurate than anything provided by the providers.

The community in the link above (s4gru) is an awesome group to follow to see exactly what's going on in any given place... lot's of experts who recognize what equipment belongs to who and what it's for (towers, antennas, etc.).

Could you link it please. Also how long dies it take to upgrade the 4g,because the speeds i get with just cdma are awful

Thanks,
Eric

This isn't a fast fix it is cause of the area u live in . remember its the mountain and trust and believe you would know its funny to say this Amtrak only come one day a week to the mountain your very high up but the service is being built . you may have to be like your friends and get another carrier cause VM isn't good in your area all u have to do is call now the signal is about 65-75 so that's like 2 bars .

Eric, Sprint has native coverage in this part of West Virginia all of Sprint's sites in this area near Wheeling, WV and surrounding areas are in Sprint's Pittsburgh market. All of Sprint's sites around I-70 and surrounding such as Wheeling and Valley Grove areas are ongoing Network Vision upgrades. This is why the 3G EVDO is cutting in and out...

Sensorly is a great app but I have gripes about using it due to that not all devices are equipped with the same quality radio for output. You might get a stronger or weaker signal than someone else that has mapped an area on Sensorly. i.e the HTC EVO LTE has a sub-par radio compared to the Galaxy S3 LTE radio...

I encourage you to visit the Play Store and search for "SignalCheck Lite" try this app out which shows your true 1x RTT, 3G EVDO, and LTE connnections in realtime, if you are happy with it buy the "Pro" version of the app which will also tell you Sprint's basestation sites that you are connecting too. It also helps to find those new 1x 800MHz sites when they come online which will help out very much in your location.

you may have to be like your friends and get another carrier cause VM isn't good in your area all u have to do is call now the signal is about 65-75 so that's like 2 bars .

I hope your not talking about -65-75dB RSSI because that would be considered an excellent connection. -65-75dB signal on 1900 PCS means you are pretty darn close to the cell site. Anything above -95dB RSSI would be about 1 to 2 and mean you are on the edge of 1900 PCS. LTE uses a different method for measuring signal levels its called "RSRP" and a -100dB LTE connection would be considered "good" but an -100dB "RSSI" for 1x RTT 1900 PCS would be considered "poor."

That was on a Amtrak platform that's was the only good signal area in Charleston it was about 2-3 never touched max . and correct it was edge and roaming .
