Root [Virgin Mobile] Discoloration of random images

I was just on instagram and Facebook and stuff and I started noticing discoloration of random images and is doesn't stay... It just appears on images and goes away in a few minutes. It happens every few hours. Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks!

Early on in Jerry's kernel thread somebody had a similar issue when they were running 1.8 before the voltages got fixed, he posted a few screenshots.

Do they look similar to your issue?

probably the high overclock even with most governers, the clock speed may go to high for your phone to handle so you probably need to lower the clock speeds and try it again, it happens every so othen like you said so that may very be the every so then your phone bumps up to 1.8ghz and cant handle it without errors, do you have trickster mod, some settings can make artifacts and discoloration happen as well

I agree with Chiral and mudflap, it is most likely your processor is not capable of 1.8ghz. Try lowering your max clock speed with Trickster MOD (or a similar app), and be sure to set on boot.

I am the one who had the same issue you were having and I found a way to fix it. My advice is pretty much Jerry Script's. First of all I have the latest 1.8 ghz MG5 kernel and when i booted up discoloration appeared SO I used SetCpu to lower the maximum Ghz down to 1.5 and waited......then in an hour or so the discoloration disappeared. Then I took my maximum up to 1.6 ghz and waited.....and no discoloration appeared and then I inched my way up to 1.7 ghz and still there is now discoloration. You just need to find that sweet spot. If you get my meaning. I stayed on the On demand governor by the way. I hope this helps.

SO as it stands I am able to successfully sit at 1.782 ghz without any issues and consistently get a Quadrant benchmark score of over 6000 sometimes 6500 depending on the governor.

Remember, you can still be pushing your cpu hard enough to damage it over time without instability or discoloration.

The highest your cpu can take without glitches is bleeding edge. It might seem stable, but over time it could still compromise the integrity of your cpu. If you can run 1.8 stable, go for it. If 1.8 glitches, and 1.7 doesn't, 1.5-1.6 is probably your safe zone.

Wow I have the exact same thing... It's weird how some phones work fine with though... 1.6 works perfect. But shouldn't tone it down to 1.5 to be safe?

It was this like this right... This was just the most recent time I saw it and took a screenshot.
