Root [Virgin Mobile] Google search quit working.

It was working a few days ago, but since I started having trouble flashing Victorious 3.1 it hasn't. Voice search is not disabled and it shows 0 for all the storage data (see screenshot). I cannot update or install from the market because it says it's already installed.

Persistent search bar will not show up. I can add the search widget, but when I click on it nothing happens.

Any ideas?

On my phone I've uninstalled Google Search 1.0 since it's long since deprecated and there should be a more current version installed as well (stock). Haven't had any problems removing it from /system/apps. The current version of Google search should be version 2.6.7.7####

I decided to try and restore Google Search with Titanium Backup and use a backup from last week. It did the restore and TB said a restart was required to finish the restore. Once the phone restarted, it started installing a bunch of ID apps and changed my wallpaper to the fugly wallpaper the phone was shipped with. Search still does not work.

On a side note, I noticed Superuser asked me to grant access to something I have never seen before called com.test.LTEfunctionality. Could this be because they are getting set to release LTE in our area?

Should I remove it as well? I have no idea what the heck happened. Removing it as simple as removing it from /system/apps?

Well, I got things sorted out. I used Root Uninstaller and removed Google Search. Once I did that, I went to the Play Store and found Google Search and the install button was not grayed out. Installed it and now it works again.

I always like a challenge and this was a decent one ;). Hopefully this might help others who have the same problem. Thanks to ewichern for the idea to delete the old search :adore:
