Virgin Mobile Mobile Network Type

I'm not sure where you're looking on the site, when I click on data history it simply says "unlimited".

There is throttling at 2.5GB, so they show you your usage for the billing period. I no longer have a VM account, so I can't walk you through the steps, but it is definitely available. I've checked it many times.

Their website isn't the best though, in terms of consistent flows.

While this is mostly true, VM has not been showing data usage for those with Evo V. If you notice my poat above, they have only started tracking my usage since I switched away from the Evo V.

At least one idea has been that VM doesn't have a system to track both 3G and Wimax usage, so they aren't tracking the Evo.

Before you do anything drastic to your software or hardware, do a profile update in the system update settings. If that doesn't fix your 3G, then power off your phone and leave the battery out for about 15 minutes. When you turn the phone back on, it should have a better connection. There have been a lot of activation bugs with the Evo V 4G and has been causing problems with people's data. Another thing you need to do is make sure there's not an outage in your area. You can email saveme@thevirginangels.com and ask about an outage, make sure you provide them with your zip code. Your data connection type should say EVDOA - That's Virgin's 3G network. I find it strange that your 4G works and your 3G doesn't.

I'm really curious what is VM is doing with the Evo V 4G. I had the phone and, while I really liked the Evo, the service was driving me nuts. I was getting 1.5-2.5 mbps download on 4G. My problem is that too many places I couldn't get 4G and, in places where I was getting 3G, I was averaging about 200 kbps. What broke the back for me were a few times/places I was getting 50 kbps.

What has me interested though, is that during the time I had the Evo (before returning it), it didn't show my data usage on VM. Since returning my phone, and changing my account back to my Optimus V, it is tracking my data usage again. Currently it shows I've used 31MB -- the amount I've used since switching phones. I can't help but wonder if Virgin isn't going to track Evo V owners, at least the ones that are using WiMax.

Before i bought an evo on friday i contacted vmusocialcare and asked if 4g was unlimited and was told it was.maybe their system cant tell if you are using 4g or 3g so they just leave it blank for evo users until they can tell the difference between the 2.

I bought this phone for the unlimited 4g and while it has been great at times(15mb speedtest) but it also drops a lot and then takes anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes or more to get 4g back.i also get no service a few times a day and have to update the profile to get it back.Think im just gonna return the phone and stick with tmobile and get either a nexus or amaze and just deal with being throttled every month after i exceed 5gb.
