Root [Virgin Mobile] Need help reinstalling the stock VM ROM

Hey, guys. I didn't want to highjack a current thread for my problem, so I figured that I'd put down my situation here.

Last night, I was irked at how badly my battery life was affected by Jerry's Victorious ROM. It's a great ROM, and I noticed how others were having good results with it (with battery too) so me thinking like a former EVO 4G owner, I went and wiped it with the intention of reinstalling the original rom, then the Victorious rom in hopes of having better results.

This was the biggest mistake I've made with this phone. As you may know, this phone likes to have a hissy fit when it comes to downloading roms that aren't on top of the original Virgin Mobile ROM.

So last night and about an hour ago, I have been trying to get back on the vanilla rom from g60. Clockwork wouldn't let me install the ROM, it kept saying I had a bad MD5 checksum or whatever. Out of frustration, I cracked out Odin to re-install TWRP. I got that installed and even though I have g60's backup, I can't seem to access it from the backup menu (this is all on an SD card of course). And yes, I did choose external SD. It never popped up.

I tried Jerry's zip of his non victorious ROM, which worked. But of course, I have no 3G/4G.

So after me trying on my end, I'm back here to ask for help and suggestions. I have to be missing a step here or whatever. Thanks, guys.

G60 had 2 stock backups, 1 for cwm and another for twrp. He removed the cwm version due to an issue.

If you switched back to twrp from cwm did you download the twrp version of backup as the 2 aren't interchangeable. Twrp wouldn't be able to install or even see the cwm backup. Download or re-download the twrp version and try again.

Well, that explains why I didn't see anything in TWRP. I suppose I'll reinstall clockwork. Hopefully I'll have better results this time.

I still have MD5 mismatches when I try to restore g60's ROM. =S

Actually you want to use twrp since the cwm version is flawed. Reinstall twrp using Odin, go to the following link and get the twrp.zip and put on sd. Restore the backup and you should be good

Are the md5 mismatches from incomplete downloads or whatever?

And I'll try this yet again... feels like I've been doing this forever, lol. To Odin!

Okay went back to Odin and again, still the same issues. I reinstalled TWRP. I followed g60's instructions. I put the backup at the TWRP folder just as he instructed (on my sd card external) and still I see absolutely nothing in my sd card section.

I have no idea what to do now. I spent my entire day at this and I've have gotten nowhere with this. =(

Is the phone bookable to rom that you can plug it in to pc and put twrp backup internal memory and try again

Yeah, I was thinking about that. Do I just need to plug in the USB cable when TWRP recovery is up on my phone?

I'm not sure if twrp will mount internal sd to usb. You can try but more than likely you'll need to be booted into the rom.

I know the full deodexed rom Jerry posted has a few issues but if needed it should be good enough for you to be able to put the backup on internal

Sorry about the issues, I'll have a fixed stock deodexed rom download available in a day or two. Till then, try restoring this backup to fix your issues:

I've been trying to restore anything I could in the Team Win recovery yet for the all of the recoveries I've tried, none of them ever show up. I even copied them to the internal SD and still nothing.

What is everyone else doing that I'm not I wonder? I put them in the BACKUP folder and I even put them on the root of the SD card just to test it. Still nothing. =(

I'm not familiar with TWRP, I prefer my tried and true CWM, but I assume it has something to do with TWRP and file ownership/permissions.

try /data/media/TWRP/BACKUPS/BACKUPS/ how my was doing it..
/external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS < shows 0 untill a second backup folder, /external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS/BACKUPS

Did you make sure to unzip the zip file and take the folder and slap it on your SD card should look like the following structure

TWRP/BACKUPS/00097d18/1969-12-31--18-44-08

Once on the SD card boot into TWRP recovery and restore from the ext_sdcard and you should be working. I tested this several times before uploading. Also do NOT verify MD5.
