Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] Ignorant of 2nd init

I'm sorry I didn't pay attention, but now I have no idea what 2nd init is, or how to use it. Can some please be kind to an idiot and explain a little or show me where to look. I'm rooted, on v5. Thanks for your time.

Am I correct in my understanding that 2nd init is another cwm based recovery? Is it the lte2 recovery I used originally to install the cwm recovery I have now? If so, why can't I use the cwm I'm using now to flash the touch recovery or the v6 rom ? Sorry.

2nd init and LTE2 are actually the same thing, 2nd init is just the fancy name for it. and the cwmt is the newest one which you need in order to flash the v6 update, which you can flash through the old cwm which i believe is 6.0.4.4

Yes you are correct. With the 2nd-init your not using the recovery kernel, it's an overlay of the boot kernel (not going to get into details). Actually it isn't needed for our phone anymore. The problem was the update to v6 broke the loki patch that allowed us to use a true cwm recovery. The solution to the broken patch is reverting the aboot image back to v5 (once again; not going to get into details). My recovery installers have the aboot image included and will flash them to your phone for you. After that you can install what ever you want, as long as it's for our phone. Oh and backups by cwm are backups by cwm or in other words cwm recoveries will restore cwm backups regardless of which recovery you use.
So to sum up, first you want to update to v6, next re-root your phone with saferoot, after that run the cwm touch installer and that's it. Flash away...make a backup first.:D
