when the recompile is done and you have just the apk / jar (-.odex), can those be used outside of the cooked Rom for flashing?

And has anyone created our device in edify_defs, or is it not that badly needed?

That's kind of a trick question. It all depends on what rom the de-odexed files are coming from and/or what firmware you plan on flashing them to. Basically this means all files have to be specifically for the f3 and of the same fw version. If that is the case then after flashing you need to remove any .odex files from the proper folders (app or framework). Remember to make a backup in recovery before flashing anything.

I can't answer your second question because I don't know of anyone who uses it...or maybe that is the answer, lol. Hope this helps.
