Does anyone know when the update is coming because it's going to be almost a year they annouced the android 4.4 update for the F3

It's not going to happen. We can only hope that Devs can pull together a functional CM11 or CM12 ROM, if we want a later OS. But so far it's looking like even that won't happen. That's why I bought a ZTE Awe instead, lots of ROM selections and an excellent overall phone for $40.

Phenom now you just gotta Help the LG Volt Community. Has more potential than the F3, seeing as though it's getting old.

True True. That's why I kept my old F3 Around just in case it did get some ROMs. But I bought the Volt for $60, and it is a much better phone. Love to see development for both.

So why do you guys want this upgrade? Fancier gimmicks? What can't we do with 4.1.2 then what can with 4.4?
Apart from faster performance increase and multi tasking. I'm seeing this stuff:

http://www.android.com/versions/kit-kat-4-4/

"Just say “Ok Google”

You don’t need to touch the screen to get things done. When on your home screen* or in Google Now, just say “Ok Google” to launch voice search, send a text, get directions or even play a song."

Okay, so , that seems like a gimmik.

"A work of art

While listening to music on your device, or while projecting movies to Chromecast, you’ll see beautiful full-screen album and movie art when your device is locked. You can play, pause, or seek to a specific moment."

Seems alright..... Why can't you do this already with another program?

"Immerse yourself

The book you're reading, the game you're playing, or the movie you're watching — now all of these take center stage with the new immersive mode, which automatically hides everything except what you really want to see. Just swipe the edge of the screen to bring back your status bar and navigation buttons."

What do you mean hides everything automatically. Every program that I'm using on 4.1.2 is hiding everything except the program I'm using at the time.

"The future is calling

The new phone app automatically prioritizes your contacts based on the people you talk to the most. You can also search for nearby places and businesses, your contacts, or people in your Google Apps domain."

Okay, this is good, but it's not worth an upgrade here. It should already do this.

"A smarter caller ID

Whenever you get a call from a phone number not in your contacts, your phone will look for matches from businesses with a local listing on Google Maps. Learn more about caller ID by Google"

I'm sure you can get apps that already do that with caller ID.

"All your messages in the same place

Never miss a message, no matter how your friend sends it. With the new Hangouts app, all of your SMS and MMS messages are together in the same app, alongside your other conversations and video calls. And with the new Hangouts, you can even share your location and send animated GIFs."

Why does this need an Operating System upgrade to do this? Couldn't you just update the app itself?

" Print wherever, whenever

Now you can print photos, documents, and web pages from your phone or tablet. You can print to any printer connected to Google Cloud Print, to HP ePrint printers, and to other printers that have apps in the Google Play Store. "

Oh that's nice, you need the internet through "Google!" so they can possibly see what you are printing. Rather then using blue tooth?

Sorry to sound negative here. But why do people want this upgrade. I won't insult your choices. I just want to know why. Because from what I'm reading, I'm not impressed, easily.

I see you're not very familiar with android. A lot of those features you're reading off are directed towards the Nexus line. i.e hiding the navigation bar. But 4.4 brings more other features some of us appreciate. I personally like the transparent notification bar, and the app compatibility that 4.1.2 doesn't have. If you don't want/understand the use of updating, then don't. No one is forcing you. And faster performance and better multitasking is a lot.
