What do you mean hides everything automatically. Every program that I'm using on 4.1.2 is hiding everything except the program I'm using at the time.

Oh that's nice, you need the internet through "Google!" so they can possibly see what you are printing. Rather then using blue tooth?

Sorry to sound negative here. But why do people want this upgrade. I won't insult your choices. I just want to know why. Because from what I'm reading, I'm not impressed, easily.

But 4.4 brings more other features some of us appreciate. I personally like the transparent notification bar, and the app compatibility that 4.1.2 doesn't have. App compatibility, okay. I understand that. A lot of newer apps no longer work with 4.1.2. What other features are you talking about besides the transparent notification bar?

I just got the phone like 6 months ago. Now people are saying it's old. Although, I'll look into updating in the future then. Not every year.

Ur not getting the point these are kitkats full with feature s and tweaks that gives u full control over your device in my opinion great experience apps run faster out with old in with the new

I get it, but you haven't done a good job convincing me lol. I guess I'll have to experience it to believe it. So far I'm already satisfied with the phone I have.
I have super user access, already. I assume I can do wifi tethering with this phone with current operating system.

No gimmicks I'm on KitKat using a different device the toast keyboard and system animations are lovely pure butter that's ur business if u wana stay on plan jelly bean lol

Fair enough.

But according to this guy:

Stick to older Android versions, like 4.1 or 4.2.
From 4.2 google has strengthned its grip on Android, and added some very unpleasant stuff.
In 4.2 it added FusedLocation.apk, to know better where you are, basically a spying app eventhough google calls it an “enhancement”.
That apk can neither be uninstalled nor be frozen (or well, it actually can but then the phone doesn't boot), but fortunately its receivers can be desactivated with Rom Toolbox and it can be greenified.
In Kit Kat it got worse, you will understand by yourself when you start uninstalling system apps and/or when you have a look at what's inside the system folder.
As I already said in the first chapter, you have to ask yourself whether you want to compromise your privacy to get the latest gimmick and the latest fancy color (that have anyway been made available on JB with Xposed modules) or whether you want to be safe.
Forget about Kit Kat, I think the game is worth the candle but it's up to you...

It compromises my privacy for gimmicks and fancy colors. And has added very unpleasant stuff.

And you can't uninstall system apps. And when you look inside the system folder.
So far in this community. I haven't seen any topics about securing your phone or privacy. And Kitkat is the worst of the worst.

I don't belong here? Because I'm just sharing my opinion. And I have been insulted and called clueless because I didn't like some gimmiks, and I thought bulit in wifi tethering and built in su wasn't that cool.
I made sure not to insult both of your guys choices. I was just counter arguing them. I even agreed with some of your points.

If anything TB should say why I'm clueless, I'm wrong to say I can't already use wifi tethering on this phone? Don't know if that's the reason why he called me clueless.

And it's true, there isn't much about security here. And the first topic about security. There wasn't much interest in it. I'm surprised there isn't a thread about bloatware removal, firewalls, sharing people's security features of their phones.

That's over an exaggeration (the feds comment) not what I meant. But people shouldn't be sending information to google over the internet to print documents in their offices. That's a privacy risk. And fusedlocation.apk or whatever bloatware someone needs to remove that potentially can get leaked info out.

You don't need to send anything to google to print documents.

if u go to a kk room there is more control over securty
 
Sorry to reopen this can of worms over a year later, but I found this thread while looking to re-purpose my old F3. I'm finding some apps are saying incompatible with the aging OS still on it, but most importantly, don't later versions of Android bring back installing apps to SD cards?

The biggest downside to the F3, IMO, was always its limited storage. Links2SD and memory swap scripts helped, but they were always really annoying to work with. For example, I took my old SD card out of the F3 and wanted to give my daughter my old phone and reformat the storage. I know she's going to run out of memory really fast on this thing, and setting up an SD card was a major PITA. A later OS device has a very simple "move to SD card" function, which even tells you why the app isn't available when you take it out (shows a grey SD icon). Much easier for her to keep track of and would make this little F3 a breath of fresh air.

But if we're really stuck on an old OS that tries to keep apps locked to internal storage, this little gem will never really shine.
 
It's been awhile since I switched phones. I can't remember if the kitkat roms allowed you to install apps on the external sd card or not.
 
Works for me, im on gamer rom 4.4.4 running ringplus. Im using apps2sd (vicki bonick), I couldn't get link2sd to work, and I couldn't format a partition of the sd in ext2/3 or create a swap and have a fat32 partition with aparted. app2sd allowed me to make the 3 partitions (ext2/3, swap, fat32) and select the sizes and allows me to install/link apps other other system files on the sd card. Sometimes its buggy, but 90% of the time it works. I wouldn't put any system apps or apps installed via flashing a rom onto the sd card, I can't get that to work, but simple app store apps link/move just fine.
