Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] [Theme][VM-LS720] Purple Metallic

The theme is purple, black and grey with a hint of chrome trim. You can get a sense of what it looks like from the screenshots below. It’s basically a full O.S. theme and is a “work in progress”. I will update as I make more changes which can be found in the change log ( 2nd post). Just so you know the home screen icons are part of an icon pack I’m also working on and are not included as part of the theme itself. When it’s ready I will post it here.

[Instructions]
Always create a nandroid backup before flashing anything to your device. If you wish to remove the theme you can restore your backup. To install download and copy the zip file to your external sdcard then flash with recovery.

[Warning]
This mod is variant specific; meaning it has been tested and does NOT work on the Metro/TM versions of the F3.

Okay with that said it’s time for the disclaimer:
I will NOT be held responsible for anything unfortunate that happens to your device! You take responsibility for your own actions. Use at your own risk!!!

Thanks to:

bkttk2 – for all your help and being my go to tester

xclusive36 – for taking time to test. I know how busy your are with the CM project.

kentchristopher – for checking compatibility with the Metro/TM variant.

PM Theme Updates

[07/20/14]
Theme has been updated to ZV7.
Added more changes to MMS, Email and Dialer apps

Note: The lg stock theme has been removed due to low storage space. So if you wish to remove the theme you will need to restore a nandroid backup. That's what a custom recovery is for... Always make a backup before flashing anything to your device!

[07/06/14]
System apps added:
1.LGUSMms.apk - Text
2. LGEmailbin.apk - Email
Added more modified images to the framework files (buttons, panels, backgrounds, icons, etc.)

[06/29/14]
System apps added:
1. Contactsbin.apk - Contacts
2. LGPhone_JB.apk- Dialer
3. LGEIMEbin.apk - Keyboard
A few more tweaks to the framework files too.
New bootanimation - (Purple Haze)

[06/22/14]
(Initial Release)
Framework apps themed:
1. framework-res.apk
2. lge-res.apk
3. LGSystenUI.apk
4. LGSettings3_2.apk

How did you change the colors? I know how to do the taskbar but not the colors in settings and all that.
That's the power of Photoshop my friend. P'shop is my main "go to" program. I create all my icons, 9 patch images (.9.png), backgrounds and so on or use it to alter existing images to fit my needs.

Any chance of using your as yet unique ability to theme towards a white on black / inverted / 'Blacked Out' theme? A lot of it can be done with Xposed, and we have a partial theme for LGSystemUI, but I'd love to see this level of thorough completion on an inverted theme.

Thanks, I've been making themes for over two years now. Don't claim to know it all but I'm way ahead of the curve if you know what I mean. The problem right now with a blackout is the text color changes needed to pull it off. Nothing worst then black text on black bg or white on white and it will happen when you start messing with it. I will be finishing this project before moving into something that intense. First theme is always my template for future projects. I do have one planned, I do love a blackout theme (easier on the eyes).

Looked at xposed but not enough leg room for me, lol. I do layout and style changes that xposed modules won't do. I'll just do it the old school way...flashables. :D

Looks great any chance of getting a green theme or the option to change colors?

Actually you can do that now. Go into Settings, scroll down to System sub-menu, tap Accessiblity. Turn on the invert color switch and tap. You can now change the color to any hue, just follow instructions provided.

Hey what happened to the Purple Haze?
It really didn't go with the theme other than the color. I have 6 or 7 BA's I've made for different themes. When I get the chance I'll post them. I will have to update them to our screen size first.

I don't know never tested it, personally I'd like to see v5 go away. All it does is confuse newbie's to no end. I see no reason to support it anymore. It's dead, it's gone, let it rest in peace and lets focus our efforts on what's here now. That's just my thoughts...

Point taken. Just keep in mind that we can't use v6 without the v5 aboot img currently.

I'm still using v5. That's why i'm still thinking about it.

That's cool. Everyone has their own preference and I respect that. The thing is like you said; it's the aboot not the rom that's needed and only needs to be flashed once. :D
