Was wondering the same thing.

I want to tether to my tablet and the tablet I had a few years ago I had to modify a file on the tablet to see an adhoc connection. Currently I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab2.

do you plan on updating it in the future?

also tried it my friend could connect to it but couldnt pull anything up, but my work building is like a fortress so I'll try it later tonight.

Are you on the V6 update? Did you try turning the hotspot off and on again. That seems to be required the very first time.

I will install the play version and report back.

Trust me . I won't come close to recouping my costs.

Do you have the real V6 update installed?
 
Something to try

Make sure WiFi is off when you start the hotspot - not just not connected. This may be a bug.

Also make sure your password is at least 8 characters.

yeah I didnt know there was a fake one lol.

feedback for your widget:
widget is slow to react to touch sometimes
"unable to toggle hotspot" message
Restarts my lg optimus f3 (or launcher hard to tell, shows the VM splash screen then loads to lock screen, looks like its restarting but it takes significantly less time so idk)
says it requires root even though I have root
can get a device to recognize it but can't get anything more than "limited access"
doesn't tether for me.

A few questions... When you say slow, do you hear the click right away but the animation takes a while? From your description is sounds like you are very low on ram? Did you uninstall the other tethers? There is a good chance that by both of them using netmgrd and my widget attempts to learn the current state that it is getting confused. Did you say 'every time' when it first asked for root access, if not it probably won't work.

I have never seen the rebootish behavior.

i hadn't but tried it again after uninstalling them same results can see the network but just gives me limited access

just saw the static ip/dns note on the play store though my IP is dynamic so Ill have to try it again after i get off work today and figure out how to set it to that. sorry for the delay

Thanks for the info. I think if you configure a static dns- not ip-on the client it will work.

Really? It works fine for me, other than dropping internet sometimes but all I've had to do is re-connect. One little hitch is that I had to type in the SSID manually on whatever device I want to connect from...other than that, it works 99% of the time.


....if yours doesn't drop internet randomly and doesn't require typing the SSID in manually I may consider buying it. As in, if you can set yours and forget it, it'd be worth it for me.
 
And i did notice that if wifi is on and i try to use tether it will reboot launcher. But as long as u make sure wifi not on it works fine and i havent yet had to reboot the tether connection stays going so too me well worth buying this app!

Thanks for the updated information. Are you using the stock home screen? I am hopefully going to fix the dns issue this weekend.
 
Yea i have the stock launcher. But otherwise id say its allot better then trying to use jb tether with wireless tether i always had to reset darn thing allot so too me the lil bugs u got nothing compared to other way of tethering!
