Root [Virgin Mobile] Updated swap and links2sd guide.

Yea. I'm also running Cataclysm if that matters. I didn't flash the specific busy box mentioned in this thread so maybe that could be it? Or idk, doing the swap before doing the link2sd procedures.

I'll try unlinking everything and flashing the busy box from op.

Well I'm pretty sure moon included busybox in conquest. If apps are successfully linking its probably the swap that's not working.

So can I just redo the swap? Or how do i fix it? Flash the zip that undoes the swap then swap again?

You can reflash it. Just make sure its the right file. Try looking in system/etc/init.d, see if you have the 11int2extsd script file. That's where the swap magic comes from.

I just wanted to provide an update about Link2SD since there is now a paid key to unlock 'plus' features. This Link2SD Plus allows you to link the data now, thus saving more space. It will not move obb files though, but if you use the app 'FolderMount' you can link the obb files with that, and eliminate the need for the internal/external swap, which is what I am doing now.

Edit: Also, Google play music app has a setting to store the music on the external SD card as well.

Things have gotten so much easier now!

Pretty sure I flashed room to roam.

I'll redownload it.

I recently changed phones. From LG Optimus f3 to Samsung galaxy victory. The f3 was rooted so I could link2sd & the f3 forums suggest the 2nd partition be an sdext2. When I rooted the SGV, I used the same sd card (sdext2 2nd partition) & link2sd works. I've had random glitches on the SGV like: 1) phone rebooting on its own then not recognizing linked apps until I restart manually (then all is ok). 2) wifi disconnecting when screen sleeps, the reconnecting when it's turned on again. 3) bluetooth disconnecting when wifi signal lost & phone reverts to 4g. 4) SuperSu ALWAYS says it needs to update binary, when opened & ALWAYS successfully updates binary when I follow "normal" procedure. I then close SuperSu, open it again, & after each opening I'm prompted to update binary. Do I need to change partition to sdext4 to remedy any of these issues?

You can change WiFi sleep policy in settings. The recommended 2nd partition for the victory is ext4. Don't try to link supersu. Hope that helps. :D

Thanks, madbat. I checked to see if link2sd automatically linked SuperSu. All OK there. My plan is to backup SD card, then repartition to sdext4. Also, I flashed TWRP 2.7, so I will return to 2.4.3 & see if that helps. Thanks again!

Hey i need help. this is the first time im doing this sort of thing so i have some newbie questions. My phone is an alcatel one touch. I followed the steps up until i reinsert my sd card and boot up my phone. i opened up link2sd and chose ext4 and it gave me an error saying that mount script couldnt be created because of the su. how do i fix this? any help would be appreciated thank you!

Well you have to be rooted with superuser or SuperSU installed. Also this guide is for the Samsung galaxy victory and won't work on other phones. Especially don't flash any of the files, the mount points are specifically for this phone. Some phones don't even use ext4. You really should find a guide for your phone. But as long as you don't flash the swap files this MAY work for your phone, but I wouldn't risk it. Su error sounds like you're not rooted?
