Root [Virgin Mobile] Victorious 0.3.1-Gallery working but no camera

I an currently on victorious 0.3.1 rom. The camera does not work anymore even when I restore my stock rooted backup. The gallery works fine, but the camera gives" camera failed error". Any help to resolve this would be useful. The rom is great except for this issue. Thanks in advance!

OK, Got my camera back by restoring my oldest backup. Is it possible for me to copy the stock camera from this backup and flash or install it into Victorious rom?. I know I would uninstall or delete the one within Victorious rom and replace it. Would that work?

Just did it! copied my stock camera and odex file to sdcard. Reflashed Victorious and camera is working fine. Thanks for the help badboytoast! I am going to make another backup, just in case. Thanks again to you and Jerryscript I am loving Victorious and Vaevictus.

You welcome!! Glad I could help. Yes always have more them one backup! Also make sure you keep a backup in your computer.

Yessir. Loving this Rom. I had an Optimus V running bobzhome, then got the victory, and now not even missing my OV.LOL Thanks ALOT!

Don't reinstall the original odexed camera app while on victorious, it's a deodexed ROM and the framework jars are different.

Think you're right MadBat, I am going to restore the stock deodexed rom and then reflash Victorious on top of it and see if that solves problem. Previously, Camera would work for maybe a week, then I would have to restore original stock backup to get my camera back. I am going to try this and see if it works.

One is the android 4.3. But its a little buggy so he left the original one too. Keep whichever you like or both. Preference.

Restored this stock deodexed that I downloaded and the camera did not work on it either. I had to go back to my original stock backup that I made. Camera is back, but I know when I flash victorious on top if it that my days are numbered for losing my camera again. Any suggestions?

Back on Victorious with camera working, so far. I am not going to use the stock camera and see if it makes a difference. So now, I have two cameras and two superuser apps. The camera issue is the only thing wrong, if I can fix that, I'm good.

After fighting with this for a week, I finally found the culprit of my little camera problem. I am a Go Launcher user and it was my Go taskmanager that was causing the problem. After I clear the cache in taskmanager, camera is all good. Now I can truly enjoy this wonderful ROM. Thanks for all the help guys!
