Root [Virgin Mobile] virgin mobile text about data throttling

How much data does everyone burn through in a month? I just came from Verizon and would easily go through 10-70gb every month.

This should give you an idea of how Virgin Mobile is currently monitoring data (or lack thereof)

This is a Virgin Mobile Galaxy Victory designated exclusively for in-house tethering. On this phone's account via Virgin Mobile website login, it says the phone has used 0.03MB of data. No joke. Looks like it has only measured the small amount of 3G possibly.

As crazy as it may seem the above image is 100% real and was taken this morning. It is my neighbor's device. The device is used as a primary home internet service :)

I just bought the tethering app and am using it now. I didn't know if I would like coming from verizon to virgin but I am pleased thus far. Verizon is so expensive.

@thebritton all of us are pretty aware that virgin isnt mearuring correctly , but were hoping they dont start on the date they said the throttling will begin

It never ceases to amaze me the dollar amounts I hear from friends on contract carriers or that I read about online. Been with Virgin for over two years now, never had any problems, and would have to say I have probably saved about $1000, maybe more, versus what I would have spent in that same time frame had I still been on contract. We were with AT&T before, on their rollover minutes plan, and had something like 8000 minutes rolled over because we never used them; that and the prohibitive cost made us start rethinking wireless providers. I also don't mind having a phone that is a step behind the "latest and greatest" either, this particular phone is still super sweet in my opinion. Wouldn't mind playing around with the LG G2 for a while though!

They have previously set dates for 3G throttling and have failed to measure data correctly since that date passed.

True. It's possible they might have fixed it, hopefully not though I've been with Virgin mobile for a very long time and they have the best plans if they start throttling I think alot of people will probably switch.
