Virgin Mobile Warranty

Just adding this to the slew of information about Virgin Mobile and the Motorola Triumph. I called in about a broken charging port, and was told that they would send me a new phone. I asked about the details, and even reiterated to the agent what she just said... and it was:
We cover everything.
I asked, well what if I drop my phone and the screen shatters? I drive a car over it?
We dont care as long as its in one peice....
So, my new phone got here... I cracked my screen by dropping it down my stairs(don't ask) and the screen shattered.*edit* New one arrives; I have had my new one for a while, and the charging port is screwed up. 0.o I might just call again and ask ;)
... back to ze eendeeahn tek sueport ;)

ok so two phones in a row???? the one that just came in shattered already? and they are sending u another new one? what is ur cost? did u have to renew ur replacement plan with ur store or none at all? coz if that's the case, maybe there's no need for that $40 replacement plan from best buy if virgin mobile is willing to replace ur phone EVERY TIME!?!?

also do they have to received ur old phone first before they ship the replacement phone? or they just take ur word that it's fubar and that u'll mail it to them? more details pls. :D

hope you don't get charged when you send them back a phone with a shattered screen.

i had to file a claim with the bbb against tmobile on a warranty exchange. they claimed that the water-detection sticker inside the phone was pink, even though the one in the battery compartment was white as day.

No, I wasn't charged, and I called specifically for the reason of asking about my shattered screen. I was super pissed, but I called, sounded sad, and was sent a refurb phone, with a new battery cover because the other one was dinged up! Just for reference, I bought my phone from Amazon.com, here :Amazon.com: Motorola Triumph Prepaid Android Phone (Virgin Mobile): Cell Phones & Accessories on July 23rd.
So I do not have any replacement plan... No square trade, nothing. I was like O.o when they asked for my address to send a new phone! I clearly stated that my phone was COMPLETELY shattered, and the screen rendered unreadable(yet the touchscreen still worked). It was just really weird.... Anyway, everyone post YOUR experience with customer support, to see if its just lucky lil' me... if you felt like asking VM themselves, great! but I've called twice, same answer.... "Just as long as its in one piece, we don't care"
BTW sorry the first post was incoherent... gah! typing on a touchscreen. ;)

Well, they took my word about the foobar, it was the reason I got a new phone... oh, I also mentioned GPS issues along with my shattered screen ;) No questions asked, a new one in the mail by fedex, along with a return slip. I was told i would be charged if I didn't send my old phone in.... Maybe I'm just lucky???? BTW Pictures of shattered phone:

my screen was cracked & I was told that its not covered, so I told them that I have other problems as well, I got I new phone the next day with the battery, charger... (was told I'm only gonna get the phone without anything) I sent them back a rooted phone with a cracked screen, tethering apps on it & I had no problem so far...

Because it’s pre-paid and they run the chance of you moving to another provider when purchasing a new phone they will replace your phone in a second. This is why it’s good to have their insurance at $5 a month. Your kid could have thrown your phone in a river and they will have a new one in your hands in 24 hours.

I called up and mentioned that the GPS issues I'm having are a hardware problem and they suggested that I make sure that it is definitely a hardware issue and once I do that, I can call and ask for a replacement...

I'm trying to figure out whether it is worth getting a replacement phone which will almost surely have the same issues or just wait for some time until my current phone gets banged up a little and I want to get a new looking phone. Anyways they told me I'm under warranty and I bought the phone from ebay

I gave my dad my old optimus V that was rooted, and he did a factor reset which put it into bootloop. Not knowing how to fix it (and he wanting a brand new phone without paying lol) I called Virgin Mobile, and said it fell into the toilet.

We then submerged the phone in water until it wouldn't turn on, and VM shipped out a new phone for my dad.

I was pretty darn impressed.

I just got done emailing them today about the GPS issue and they told me that they wont replace my MT because "it works" even though it takes more than 5 minutes to get a lock. The only thing they mentioned is to do a factory reset and that was it. No luck there.

The first couple of weeks of owning my phone I would let it sit for hours and not once made a gps connection but after installing an app named A-GPS Injector not only am I able to make a connection but they are made instantaneously, definitely not a hardware problem.

I have a charging problem with my for week now. I think its the same problem that rvarn1 in the first post. I'm going to call VM to see if they can send me a replacement i already did once but as rvarn said he did it twice.

Has anyone received a replacement Motorola Triumph? The screen on mine stopped functioning (turn it on, hear music, blank screen) on September 23rd, and I have been asking for a replacement since September 26th (I was out of town and had to wait a few days).

Each time I e-mail or call, I am told that warranty replacements are out of stock, and absolutely no one can tell me when they will be restocked. Meanwhile, I continue to pay the monthly fee and have no cell phone or house phone (my cell is my home phone). It's going on 4 weeks, and no one can tell me anything.

Heres you do call VM say troubleshooting then when its done witlh all the options sa>y live representive and tell them your phone charging port messed up and you want a replacement phone. That's what I did and got me a new one. I just got I called them Saturday and got it Tuesday.

Thank you! I'm going to call again. I'm so mad. They must have replacements in stock if they are supplying them for the charging issue. I have asked 9 times. :oz

I was originally told they were out of stock as well. I waited 5 business days before calling back and as luck would have it the MT was back in stock. Odd that I got one during the time you've not been able to... Oh, mine was sent overnight because I had to wait.

Thank you both! :) I called VM again this morning (and was none too happy). I explained to them that I have been nicely asking for a replacement for 24 days. Each time they say that the phone is out of stock and write a "ticket" for immediate attention. I said that I know the phones are not out of stock since others have received theirs. What do they say? First they tell me again that the phones are out of stock. I say no they are not. Then they transfer me to someone else, who low and behold, informs me that they do have replacments and are sending me one today. What the heck Virgin Moibile? I am happy to finally be getting a phone, but I am so disappointed in their customer service. I don't like being lied to, and it seems like I had to get angry for them to do what they should have done weeks ago. I just don't get it.

VM must have the best "warranty" in the biz then. I had my MT in my pocket the other day, and who knows what happened, but when I pulled it out, the screen was cracked across the lower half. Screen is fine, but I lost all touch above the crack.

The phone already wasn't charging properly via micro-usb (I got the ebay 3 battery pack and standalone charger and have been using that).

Got a new one coming in on Tuesday.

I've been in hell with my old intercept for the past few days. Whoever talks down on the Triumph is just silly. Sure it's got a lot of flaws, but at the end of the day, it's still one hell of a phone.
