Virtual Webcam/Camera on Android?

Hello everybody! I have an intriguing question today!
I'm attempting to get a virtual webcam onto my android phone. What I'd like to do is play a video file into my phone's camera as if it was live footage. (For example, I could stream pre-recorded footage on to periscope.) I was planning on hooking a program like VLC2VCam to an android emulator, but I was curious if there was an easier way to do this.

Not that I know of, don't think it would be possible tbh. All I can think of is holding another phone/tablet/tv in front of the main phone's camera lol. Not ideal
Btw. What is Periscope for Android like? Any good?
