Root Virtuous 3.0

Seem to be having a problem installing Swype. I had it installed on 2.7, then upgraded to 3.0.1 this morning without wiping or clearing cache. Now Swype is no longer installed, and when I try to re-install it, it says there's a previous version already installed and fails to install.

Are you sure it's not installed? Keyboard-> text input, Swype not there? Sure you have "unknown" checked in applications?
 
having a swype issue here as well, its not installed, i check the keyboard settings nothing there, ive tried to run both 1.X and 2.X versions and neither will fully install
 
Im getting horrible battery life on this build. Down to 38% wiyh maybe 30mins of use on a 2150mah. On 2.7 i would be at 70% still
 
Not having the problem today, when i looked at my clock last night at 3 am ish, it was saying 5 pm, it was a clock widget, restarted it and it looks fine, i also got a pop up that said it could not detect my time. So that may have been what was causing it.

I was going to mention I haven't been altering anything the past few releases which would impact battery life, let alone anything that substantial. Glad you did not have the problem again today. I find that radio use (location and associated coverage) impacts the battery more than just about anything.

There are just so many variables.
 
Thanks rmk, glad to see you over here. Love the rom, yea if i use Timeriffic app to put airplane mode on while at work, because i get no service. Saves a ton of bat.

Thanks for the great work. This is my "go to" ROM when all else fails.
 
So do I need to do a full wipe before installing this (coming from the stock RUU Froyo)? Looking forward to trying it (plus the Rule The Air theme) out.

Edit- And is the camera fully functional and not reduced to 3 mp or anything like that?

No wipe needed from stock RUU Froyo. Camera and everything else work fully.

I must say that I absolutely love this ROM. I experimented with both ShadowRom and CM6 and both were cool but I had random restarts way too much. Virtuous hasn't caused a single problem once I installed it correctly (first time I screwed up and had to nandroid back). I opted to use the Kernel that it comes with in Rom Manager for better battery and this is by far the best battery life I've had with the INC and I've had it since day one. Question about the kernel though, I'm assuming it underclocks and makes the phone a tad slower right? If I want to revert back to the stock kernel in Rom Manager do I need to do a wipe and all or can I just install it and go? I want to switch over to it tonight and see how my battery life and speed are with it.

Oh, and since rmk chimed in earlier, if you are reading this, any chance of an updated bluetooth stack for wii remotes? Or is there a way I can update it myself manually? This is the one thing I hate about the DINC, no wii remote + video out on any ROM that I know of.
 
I have virtuous 3.01 installed and have noticed that my HTC Weather/Clock widget just displays Current Location and not my city. I have GPS on and auto-sync. It seems like every once in a while it will show the city but most of the time it is just Current Location.

I have tried Turning Off and Back On. Removing Battery.

Anything else, anyone can think of?

I just installed this after running Ruby for a while. Is there a way I can get back to the stock apps for dialer/contacts and messaging (edit: and gallery)?

Same issue. Kind of annoying, although minor. Any fixes?
