Root Virus/Trojan Horse

Last night a friend came to my house because he was having trouble installing a ROM. After hooking his phone to my pc, I transfered 4g worth of files to a folder on my pc. His sd card was full.

After teaching him to install zip files and getting his phone running, he left.

An hour after that, my pc was infected with System Tools 2011. It completely bypassed Microsoft Security Essentials.

I didn't run any executable files. I didn't go to any websites except this one and xda. I didn't open any emails.

My question is this: Is it possible for an android phone to infect a windows based machine?

I'm really at a loss as to how I got infected.

Thanks in advance for any input.

It's possible so yes but on another side maybe is not virus at all but some hack tools (keep in mind that anti virus software see other stuff as virus even if they are not) and it's marked as infection because they don't want you to use it. Btw microsoft security is worthless, get Kaspersky anti-virus (at least trial version) and scan your PC.

MSE actually works very well. From time to time I will use housecall.trendmicro.com to scan my PC, but MSE has never failed me.

Thanks for the responses. Malwarebytes was used to fix the problem. MSE is gone. I'll try Kaspersky or clamwin.

Since I started using Kaspersky Internet Sucurity (5-6 yrs ago) with my Windows based PC and repleced IE with Firefox my problem with spyware and viruses are gone.
