Help (Vista64) pc connection problem

Lurker
Brand new phone (sgh 959). I downloaded the usb drivers from samsung, and was able to connect to my pc to transfer files, no problems.

Then suddenly, after a few days, when I connect it (always use the media player setting) the pc instantly recognizes the phone but when I try to open the folder to view it takes FOREVER to do it, then when I try to transfer files it takes FOREVER and then eventually (like 10 minutes) an error message pops up and nothing got transfered.

I just started having the problem last night, I formatted my 16gb sd card, I tried the old sd card again, I restarted pc and phone, I tried all three usb connection modes (including downloading the kies mini software from samsung and finding out my phone is up-to-date), I virus scanned my entire hard drive, nothing helped.

I took my phone to work today and on windows xp it works totally fine. no problem at all. able to open and transfer everything quickly.

I have not re-installed any drivers yet, but wanted to make this post to see if I could find any info while away from home.

Thanks

I'd uninstall/reinstall the drivers. I've had trouble with them in the past and usually a reinstall works.

well I feel like a jerk but as it turns out, I tried plugging my cable into the back of the mobo and it worked! guess my usb slot just died or something? at least I don't have to find and delete the drivers, that looked like a big hassle.
