Help Visual Voice Mail not installing on phone

DeniseJ

Newbie
I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem installing Visual voice mail on the Sensation. I touch the "Visual Voice Mail" icon and it takes me to the installation screen. I touch "Next" on the screen and it just hangs there with the little circular thingy continuously turning in the upper right hand corner of the same screen. Called T-mobile and they attempted to fix it but it is still not working. I was told they would call me back in 24 hours because it may take time to provision in the system.

Any Ideas? Thanks

Didnt even know there was visual voicemail until i read this. However, i just tried it for the first time and it works great. Try restarting your phone and take the battery out?

Thanks for replying. I had already tried turning off/on etc. with no luck.

I got it working....I ended up having to hard reset the phone. I was saving that as my last resort because I had it all set up the way I wanted it with all of my apps, Bluetooth, home wifi network and everything. Actually it wasn't bad doing a hard reset because all of my apps were backed up and automatically reinstalled to the phone so I just had to place them back on the screens where I wanted them to be....pretty cool...;)

I had to try setup twice to get it to work. Second time it worked fine and in less than a second. Had issues with setting it up on the mytouch 4g too.

You have to contact Tmobile (Dial 611 on your phone) to ask them to activate Visual voicemail for you. Then later on, you can retrieve voice mail with that app.

Usually that is true but in this case its not. I had the service turned on and had issues switching devices from mytouch slide to 4g and again with 4g to sensation. Its the app. Its poorly made!

This thread doesn't apply much to you then. The app itself can be hit and miss. Read the reviews in the market. Had no problem setting it up on my behold 2 or mytouch slide, but the 4g and sensation had this small issue that is correctable.

How is it correctable? I have a tmobile USA htc sensation. And I can't get visual voicemail installed. Thanks in advance

Visual Voicemail is already installed in HTC Sensation. You need to dial 611 to tmo to ask them to activate it for you.

have had phone for over a month, visual vmail was working, i left my coverage area(went camping, and on way up north, i was getting and loosing signal, well i had received a voicemail, and when i had signal again i listened to it, then realized my voicemail notification wasn't disappearing from toolbar, and also noticed that visual voicemail didn't have any new voicemails. when i got back into network (been here in network for a full week now, every time i get voicemail, notification will not disappear, i have to clear voicemail cashe, and also i do not receive visual voicemails, so i went to update it, uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and i cannot get it to reinstall, i'm stuck with the next button as well. I'll call tmobile in the morning again, but i've already done this, and they told me they don't have issues with the visual voicemail for htc sensation, like they use to have with HD2.
Thanks for reply, will let you all know the outcome.

I had the same problem where my phone would not reinstall visual voice mail either. It was stuck like yours. I called T-Mobile and they reset it in the system. That didn't fix it. I had to end up doing a hard reset to erase everything on the phone and start fresh to resolve the problem. Good Luck!!!

called tmobile, worked my way to PDA SUPPORT. they had me uninstall all visual voicemail updates, then DISABLE wifi.
then open visual voicemail, and hit next and it registered instantly, then i had friend call cell, visual voicemail showed notification, listened to voicemails from visual voicemail. then all notifications removed.
Works. Hopefully Helps Others.
TY for replies guys!

I have tried everything with the a tmobile tech to get visual voice mail to work without success. This is why apple is so successful. There stuff works!.

Well i left town, went to the casino (where again i lost tmobile service and someone called me and left a message) and now i'm back in same boat again, visual voicemail doesn't work, and voicemail notifications are stuck on. i spent 2.5 hours on hold last night, talked to 3 idiots at tmobile (idiots due to the fact their first reply is ALWAYS HARD RESET, exchange phone), and got frustrated and will be calling back again today and work my way up the Tiers.

Will be back with results.

To enable to Visual Voicemail feature you can just log into your account and add it to your line. It's free. As everyone knows. However; I did not like the T-Mobile app very much at all. I am using Phone Fusion Voicemail+ and it works much better (for me anyways). Comes with the option to have the voicemails in text for free.
