Visual voice mail

Oooh...now you have me curious. Just got mine up and running today, added the VVM, but hadn't had a chance to use it. Guess I better go outside where I get service and test that! Will report back when I've managed to check it more myself.

thanks !

I had used Google Voice all along with my AT&T android phiones. Came over to Verizon for the TB and naturally didn't want to pay for Verizon VVM when I could just use GV, which I was already use to, for free. I had some trouble setting it up though. I had to delete and re-add my cell # to my GV account and re-do the setup from scratch to get it to work.

Before figuring this out by myself I figured I'd call Verizon customer service to see if maybe it was a common problem that could be easily solved. The first rep transfered me to an "Android Specialist" and I was hopeful. Too bad the Android Specialist seemed like she had never even heard of Google Voice before. You would think, even if they don't directly support it, that she would at least know wtf it is. I was rather disappointed.

Just did my test, called myself from home, let it go to VM, dialed in, (and even managed to actually get it downloaded with very spotty service). Had a TINY bit of noise in the message, but by no means overwhelming or obnoxious. Sounded pretty much as I would expect most voice mails to sound, even on the normal system. I'm sure I'll have more chances to test it, probably will do so again tomorrow at work, just to see what happens. If I remember after work tomorrow, I'll post back what I end up with.

Google voice is great. It is real fun to add personalized messages so when an individual calls it will play the message that is for that individual and not the generic one for everyone.

Just did it at work again, called in, left a message, no major sound issues at all, sounded fine. Might just be one of those random things that affects some people, not others :( sorry I couldn't find anything more definitive.
