So, I used to be rooted. I unrooted my phone because I thought that I was going to have to take it in-long story short, I did not have to take my phone in and while I was unroooted I went ahead with the Gingerbread update. I was getting ready to re-root my phone when after a couple of weeks I realized my VVM was no longer working.
I looked through the threads and have done what they told me to do...and in order this is what I have done based off of advice:
1.) Disabled the Handcent "default messaging application" in their settings.
2.) Composed a message and sent it to activate@vvm.sprint.com
3.) Did a battery pull on my phone.
4.) Had my boyfriend send a test voicemail.
I have also played with the different Handcent options in the default messagin application after the user advice didn't work and it didn't change anything. I was at one point not receiving the text messages from 9016 anymore, but it wasn't showing me anything in my notification bar from the voicemail app either.
Oh, and on a separate attempt to fix my voicemail I went into my settings and manage apps and cleared the data from my voicemail...
Does anyone know what I should try to do now? I'm half tempted to just use my upgrade credit and buy a new phone-but I really don't want to since this is the only thing wrong with my Evo and I've had this phone since the day it was released.
Thank you in advance
