vlingo voice dialing

hi all, just bought myself a jawbone icon and im wanting to be able to voice dial and send text via the headset. i no this can be done lookin on the my talk website, but its at a fee, there must be a way round this for free, im in the middle of tryin vlingo but dont seem to be workin for me plus when i turn the headset off it reboots the phone. any input will be welcome, cheers people

Ive had the same issue with vlingo and my phone rebooting when I tried the motorola t505 and the jabra cruiser 2. I assumed there was something wrong with my phone, the rom i had or the bluetooth speakers i tried.
 
Yes, me too. The app was used with the in-car function and caused numerous restarts and satnav issues. Uninstalled it in the end. Googles "Car Home" is way better, but I think its only available for devices running pure GB - sadly not the Desire (me thinks).

HTC Desire has a "Voice Search" app which in fact does not only search but you can dial contacts, get directions, etc. Tried it myself and found it to work 5 out of 10 times, well sort of. Not as good as Google Home and does not provide an in-car solution.:cool:

P.S. this applie to non-rooted handsets of course
 
What's your handset? If it's HTC then try "Voice Search" (as already mentioned earlier). If you have a Google handset with Gingerbread it will be part of your native apps collection preinstalled.
 
Should do, but results depend largely on the input quality, i.e. the quqlity of your headset. Give it a go.
