VM Roaming

On VM Facebook page they have announced today that roaming will be available starting on 7/1. No further details yet on whether it will be an additional cost or not. The only 1 they can have an agreement with is obviously Verizon. Should be an interesting development. Starting to act like a real phone company what with the Evo, WiMax and now this! :D

When I got the text from VM saying that the terms of use will change as of the 1st of June, I took a peek inside them and saw that there was a new section on roaming and I saw this coming :D
It made me happy, Thanks for confirming it!

edit:The VM staff on FB say that roaming will take effect on July 1st.

I take it we will be using Verizon's CDMA network..?
I wonder if/what the charges will be for using roaming...
Thing's just keep getting better and better on VM!

really hope this happens. up here in wisco, not much available coverage wise. verizon has the best around here, followed by us cellular, sprints kind of a distant third, but theres no gsm coverage worth mentioning from anyone.

I agree, The only coverage I get is whenever I'm in town or if I leave town, Anywhere on interstate 94. That's it for western Wisconsin.

Thank god this is happening, I do not get good service here in PA at all. My gf has straight talk through her iPhone and she always has more bars then me. I have the MT and everytime I just have one bar it goes away when I make a call and I wonder with the new Evo V 4g if it will be all around better reception. If not I think I might be heading to straight talk as well.

Bars aren't the end-all be-all, different manufacturers calibrate the bars differently, or even have different numbers of bars. Recall that when the iPhone 4 came out, it had reception issues. Apple's solution- releases a software update that showed more bars at the same signal strength.

You may very well have worse reception, you're on a different network than her of course. Just saying, don't always believe the bars. :)

Why are some of you people saying they cut a deal? They already have the deals in place. Maybe they are extending whatever to virgin mobile finally.

Virgin Mobile USA Hi everyone. I need to clarify comments about roaming on Virgin Mobile. Roaming is not available. We did recently update our terms and conditions (effective 7/1/12) in order to make our language more consistent with Sprint’s. There is a new reference to roaming, but we have no plans to add roaming at this time. For information on whether roaming applies, see your service plan details. Our sincere apologies. ^Justin C

The rep who said roaming would be coming had to redact her statement.

There is no roaming coming to Virgin Mobile or Boost.

The rumor stems from Virgin and Boost updating their TOS by doing a copy/paste job of Sprint's TOS.

I'm "new" but a long time reader. So pardon my lack of clickable links or inline images.
