Root VM size question

I am running Condemned CM7 now S2h and am loving it. Just an observation, I moved the VM heap size from 48 to 24 and saw a noticeable improvement in pure snappy-ness. This is my question. What are your heap size settings and why? If I make it smaller will it become even more responsive?

I wouldn't recommend going lower than 24. You can try if you'd like but it's not recommended lol. You should be fine running it at 24 as long as you don't run many larger apps. Trying to run a larger app with the vm heap set too low will cause FC's and crashes. This is the reason I went with the higher size. Feel free to play around with any of the settings with in the ROM to find the balance that works best for you though. ;)

Since we are talking CM stuff, how about the JIT compiler? Why is it off by default?

When I was doing my testing with various settings I found that for me and also my testers the ROM ran smoother with jit off. One of the ways I tested was with a Nintendo emulator. The way I have my ROM setup as default the game did not freeze or pause once. When i played the game with jit on it would "stutter" in the middle of a jump or move. Some people I know turn jit on after flashing the ROM and that's fine. But I've had no complaints so far about it being default to off. In fact I believe that a majority of my users now leave it off.
