Voice Actions for Android Siri Killer

My translate is not working on voice actions. I tried "Translate I love you in spanish" and it would translate it into german. Is there a setting I need to change?

I have now managed to install "Voice Actions" and I do have to say that it is, IMHO, way better than "SpeakToIt" or "Iris". Certainly a worthy competitor to the iPhone's "Siri".

However, as psxindo found, any and all requests for translations are met with a German rendition, no matter the language you choose.

So, the short term solution for you psxindo is to use an on-line translation or, perhaps more radically, change your girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband to a German speaker!

ah, i was reading about iris being the android version of Siri (siri spelled backwards ) and though its just in alpha stage yet, its very good.. but i havent tried it.. voice actions works good i admit, although it look improve the look a bit.. lets hope iris keeps updating too. not that i'd use it, but when those iphone 4S user/friends that i have start showing off Siri, i wanna be like, look i can do that too! lol

EDIT: just tried iris too. its way behind voice actions, yes. u cant have a conversation with it (not that i want to, but still ), its pretty much a search/action kinda app.. for example, im like.. hello, and reply: hello. i say how are you?, which it takes as a google search "how are you is a song by blah blah". lol.. and it also takes a bit too long to initialize. good potential though

Now I have a question regarding speaktoit assistant. Can someone confirm that it's giving the right time and date? I asked what time? the time is off by 7 hours. Example: my phone's time is 11:00pm, but it would say it's 6:00 am the next day.

Did that with me too.. you need to say "What's the time in (country) ?"

Voice Actions, or Jeannie as it's now called, gives the correct time without specifying the country.

simply say "Call *persons name*"
usually when i ask that, it finds someone completely irrelevant to who i'm looking for.
its great for novelty but has a long way to go before its useable, for me anyway.
i do like it tho, just not practicle enough yet
