Help Voice Alerts

How can I turn off the voice alerts which accompany the ringtones on incoming calls and messages? I don't need a naff robotic voice to tell me the obvious. It's really annoying!!

Have you switched driving mode on in the voice talk app? If so you need to switch that off, had same problem and never realised this runs in the background
