Help Voice Control after 2.3.3 upgrade

The first one that force closed was the 2.1 Nuance. The latest one I posted comes from my custom ROM which underwent the zipaligning and deodexing process (Which effectively modifies the structure of the APK). Like I said, I went through the entire Adaptation process with this apk and it works. So I'm giving it just in case, but then again I'm not sure if the Nuance data off the /data partition might not have something to do with this. Which is why I suggest both.
I ran the procedure with your custom ROM and then REBOOTED my phone, cleared the data cache for Nuance. I then launched the app and tried to ADAPT but as soon as it said the first phrase "Call Melissa Jordan at home" before I could respond the app closed.
I have tried setting Audio Modes to both Expert and Prompt but that does not make any difference as it still fails with either setting. If I try to say call one of my Contact Names it replies with a name not even in my list.

Ok... So the APK isn't the issue. Must be a dependancy with another module which changed in my custom ROM then

+1 for me on three LG 2.3.3 updated phones. Without the adaption, the voice recognition is non-existent. On 2.1, after adaption, the voice recognition is very accurate (especially if you voice number dial "Call 604-xxx-xxxx" which is about 100%)
Are you saying that you have been able to run Nuance Voice Control Adapt on Android 2.3.3? If so is your phone rooted with Gingerbreak and are you using the VSuiteApp.apk that came with the 2.3.3 update or either the 2.1 or custom apk that was posted by Karendar. If the NVC Adapt is working for you and not Force Closing on 2.3.3 could you please post your VSuiteApp.apk file as I desperately want to get this working. Thanks in advance and looking forward to your reply.

To be clear I only tested with your custom VSuiteApp.apk as I have not yet updated to your custom ROM. I don't want you to think that there is a problem with another module and start doing unnecessary trouble shooting. Thanks again for all your assistance.

Yeah, the custom ROM doesn't seem to have the issue which is why I said that. I think it's due to the fact I deodexed the ROM and I think there's a link between the phone.apk and VSuiteApp.apk, because from what I read from other forums, Nuance app links itself with the voice button trigger... Which would explain why my ROM works and the stock one doesn't. Deodex integrates most dependancies from APK's back into the APK itself instead of creating cross references.

I think I'll stop working on the Nuance thing because the custom ROM works and I think the screen issue is more important.

Just one last question, when you go into Settings-Voice input & output-Text to Speech-Default Engine does it just list Pico TTS or is there an option to select Nuance and are you using the Speech Synthesis Data Installer Android TextToSpeech.

No idea, like I said it's not my phone... I'd have to check on my girlfriend's phone when I get home tonight. And we don't use Nuance at all...

No, Bob, I do not root. I am now using a warranty replacement refurbed phone which is running 2.1 v10c. This is my third refurb sent to me by Telus. Each time I did the update on the previous phones (3x) I had the same problems. I have learned my lesson and am refraining from doing the LG Update.

Dam it! I deleted this useless ****ing app, and then I couldn't make calls. I rebooted, same problem. I tried some console commands, all failed. Unmounted the SD card. No help. Re-mounted the SD card. Again, can't make calls. Turned it off and went away. Came back. And then, suddenly, the phone worked again by itself. Whiskey tango foxtrot.
Why does Google let their partners do this kind of crap? Getting rid of all this ****ing bloatware should not be this ****ing hard! All I wanted to do is uninstall the apps I didn't ask for and never wnated, but Noooooooooo.... can't let the user do that. Then he'd have actual control over a device that he owns. Arg! ****ing control-freak corporations and their god dam lock-in. I can't wait until someone releases a bloat-free rom for this phone and I can dump the ******ed stock rom that LG bundled with this thing.

heh. I know your feeling. I noticed that Nuance is integrated into the dialer and not only that, some other system files as well... Go figure.
