Help Voice Dialer and Ringer Volume Ghost Opening

On my several month old Optimus S, I've been having a problem that's been getting more and more frequent. When setting the phone down, or moving it slightly, the Ringer Volume adjust window opens, usually followed by the Voice Dialer waiting for a command.

Rebooting, Battery Pulls, Updates..... Nothing has stopped this from happening.

Has anyone seen this problem before? Search didn't turn up anything.

You may want to experiment by holding the pbone by the top and bottom edges and carefully setting it down and see it happens. What I'm thinking is that there may be a part that's gotten loose like the volume control and the voice command button, or an internal piece on the side of the phone. If it doesn't happen when you set it down as I described it, then some loosening may be the cause.

Other than that, there may be some kind of short inside the phone that occurs when the phone is placed flat. You may also experiment with putting the phone down the opposite way, I mean face down or face up to see if it makes a difference. By doing this, you may be able to build a case for getting it replaced.

Thanks Rob,

I took the phone into Sprint and replicated th problem for the tech. After doing hard factory reset, the problem remained. Then since I had insurance, I got a new LG Optimus S.

The Tech also thought it was something loose or a short inside the phone.

Now I'm happily re-installing all my favorite apps. LOL
