Help voice input problem

So the other day i was trying to use google search by way of voice and it gave me connection problem and i could choose try again or cancel, now whenever I try do do anything involving voice commands, i have google translate as well, I get that message. I have not gotten any new apps or updates between when it was fine and when it stopped working, so if anyone knows anything about the situation and could help that would be great.

Have you power cycled the phone? Or have you tried powering the phone off, removing the battery, and waiting about 30 seconds before putting it back in and powering the phone on?
