Help Voice Mail notification

Every time I get a voice mail with this phone the icon hates to go away.. usually it goes away when I listen to the whole message hang up and dial my voice mail again..
But I got a voice mail message last night, it has been deleted and the my vm box is empty... so no messages at all and the notification wont go away, I have restarted it and nothing..

Any one have any advice?

Call, leave yourself a VM, and then delete it
