Help Voice recognition

iOS user tempted by Android...

Can anyone tell me if this phone will let me write texts or emails through voice recognition while I'm in the car through bluetooth? Siri is appealing to me because I can simply push the bluetooth button (or call button on my steering wheel) and start giving commands. Can I do this with the Nexus or do I have to pick up the phone and press a couple of buttons before being able to dictate?

Vlingo will let you do this. When bluetooth is connected, or after pressing a button, you can get it to listen to you by saying "Hey Vlingo". From there you can send texts, call people, search the web, update twitter/facebook, open apps, get directions, send emails, and get it to read incoming messages.

It's not as good as Siri, I'll be honest, but it seems to meet your needs.

Doesn't work on my BlueAnt Q2. But you can just hit the microphone button in the Google search box on the phone and say "Send text to John Smith" then dictate the text. Works pretty well. You can also say "listen to," "navigate to," "call," "send email," "set alarm," "map of," "go to" (web site), "note to self" (sends a Gmail to yourself), "directions to," and "web search." I've noticed I can just say someone's name in my contacts and it pulls up the contact. Hope this helps.

yea the speech to text in ICS is awesome (tip, go to settings and uncheck the box for bad language, then curse your heart out). but yea you just press the microphone button, say something like send email or send text and when you start talking it will write it almost as you are saying it, pretty darn impressive... btw it does know alot of curse words, kinda fun to play with.
