I have a G2, not rooted or anything (well not yet lol) and my voicemail icon is stuck and keeps saying I have a new voicemail even though I don't. My voicemail box is empty and I'm using the stock voicemail, not google voice.
Quick solution - leave a voicemail, or have someone else leave on on your phone. Listen to it and delete it. This should fix your problem, which is that the phone did not read the flag when you last cleared a voicemail off of the system. Works almost every time.
